After the two bouquets caused unexpected excitement at kindergarten, a few more funny things happened.
The first story.
One afternoon, I picked up Lisa (my four-and-a-half-year-old daughter) from kindergarten.
She looked at me very seriously and asked,
"Mummy... my teacher said you have a flower shop?"
"I do," I replied.
She frowned.
"No, you don't!"
"I've never seen it!"
It took me a second to realise what she meant.
She was talking about a physical shop.
😂
So I explained,
"I do have a flower shop, but it's on the internet."
"We can't actually see it."
She looked even more confused.
"How?"
I thought about it for a moment and said,
"You know how whenever we don't know something, we ask Google?"
"If someone wants to buy flowers as a gift, they can ask Google too."
"Google shows them my website."
"They place an order."
"Mummy packs the flowers."
"Then the postman delivers them to their house."
...
She went completely silent.
I think I accidentally gave her the very first lesson about online shopping.
Maybe a little earlier than I planned.

The second story.
One morning, when I dropped Lisa off at kindergarten, Miss V walked over looking very excited.
"I visited your website!"
"Really?" I asked.
"Did you like it?"
"Which one was your favourite?"
She smiled.
"The flowers you gave Miss M were so beautiful."
"We have an event coming up, and we still had a little bit of our budget left."
"So I wanted to order one."
"But..."
"We only had fifty dollars."
"And we couldn't find anything in that price range."
I couldn't help laughing.
"I'm sorry..."
"My smallest bouquet starts at ninety-nine dollars."
She laughed too.
"That's okay."
"I completely understand."
"I just think they're absolutely beautiful."
I explained,
"They're made from real flowers, and preserving them takes a lot of work."
"Even the packaging is quite expensive."
"So... I'm sorry."
She smiled and said,
"No, don't be."
"I really do understand."
"I just think they're gorgeous."
So I told her,
"I'll give you one for Christmas."
"Really?"
"Good!"

Now I'm starting to think I've accidentally become the main topic of conversation in the kindergarten staff room.
It turns out that no matter your age, your job, or where you're from...
Women simply love flowers.
