My daughter, Lisa, is four and a half years old.
Every day she watches me arranging flowers, wrapping bouquets, and packing orders.
Every single time she says,
"This is so pretty!"
I ask,
"You like it?"
She always answers,
"Yes! Can I have it?"
"No."
😂
One afternoon, I picked her up from kindergarten.
She told me,
"The library lady Miss W is back! She was on holiday for a long time."
I had absolutely no idea who Miss W was, but I said,
"Oh, that's nice."
Then she said,
"I want to give her some flowers to welcome her back."
"Of course," I said.
Then she looked at me very seriously.
"Can I have one of your flowers that doesn't die?"
I laughed.
"You know too much."
"Yes, you can. We'll pick one when we get home."
She thought for a second.
"Can I give one to Miss M too? She's my teacher."
"Sure."
She paused again.
"What about..."
I interrupted her.
"No."
"Let's start with two."
She nodded.
"Okay... that's fine."
When we got home, we picked out two arrangements and prepared two greeting cards.
The only problem was...
I had no idea how to spell the librarian's name.
So the next morning, I asked Miss M at kindergarten.
We ended up sitting on the playground floor together, writing the cards before school started.
That was apparently the most exciting thing happening that morning.
Within minutes, almost every child in kindergarten was standing around us.
"What's that?"
"Who is it for?"
"Are they real?"
"Can I touch it?"
The scene became complete chaos.
Miss M and I packed everything into the gift boxes as quickly as we could.
Then I made a very quick escape.
Later, Miss M and Miss W both told me,
"These flowers are beautiful."
"You have such a lovely job."
I smiled and said,
"I do."
Although...
In my head I was thinking,
"It's definitely easier than being a kindergarten teacher."
At least the flowers don't argue with me all day.
The flower caused this chao is this one!
